Big Stacks is set for another heated outing when he shares the ring with Jordan McCann, with tensions between the pair already high following their press conference encounter back in June.
Stacks had been arguing with Shane Fury, the brother of Tyson and Tommy, before McCann landed a punch that injured him and reduced his fight with Armz Korleone to a body-shots-only contest.
He went on to lose to Korleone after being stopped, but Stacks is now promising a much better performance when he finally gets his chance against McCann.
Rather than treating that defeat as a setback, Stacks has been open about what went wrong, admitting that his preparation and mindset were not where they needed to be before he stepped into the ring.
That honesty has added another layer to the McCann fight, especially after a confrontation that made it clear there is little respect between the two men.
Speaking ahead of the contest, Stacks made it clear that this one feels personal, warning McCann that he will be entering the fight with a very different mentality from the one he carried into the Korleone bout.
“This one's very serious, man. I want to hurt Jordan bad. I can't stand him,” said Stacks.
“Last time, I didn't think I had [it]. Mentally, I lost before I had got in the ring. I wasn’t taking it too seriously.
“I went out the night before, my face was f----d, [so the fight] had to be a body-shot fight. Who's looking forward to that? It was the cardio, if anything.
“My headspace was, ‘I can’t last three rounds, so I'm going to try and knock him out straight away’. That's all I thought I had. I'm a street fighter; I've never been in a boxing ring in my life. That was my headspace.”
