Hearn eyes Smith for Liddard move
Eddie Hearn has his sights on veteran Liam Smith as a major test for British middleweight champion George Liddard.
The latter defend his Lonsdale Belt against Tyler Denny in London on Saturday night with an impressive performance.
Now Matchroom boss Hearn is sizing up new challenges for his star, as he builds towards a possible world-level shot.
"Liam Smith is a brilliant fighter," he was quoted by Boxing Scene. "If he stays in the game, that's the type of fight."
Mason and Davis set to clash?
Abdullah Mason could defend his WBO lightweight crown against ex-title holder Keyshawn Davis later this year.
The former seized the vacant strap in November against Sam Noakes after the former was forced to vacate it.
Davis wants a crack at earning it back after turning over Jamaine Ortiz with a late knockout earlier in January.
Now, The Ring suggests Mason is open to a defence against the former title holder as they size each other up.
Usyk-Joshua partnership continues
Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua's bromance appears to be going strong with the pair together in Ukraine.
The former is working towards his bout with Rico Verhoeven, while the latter is eyeing up a return this July.
The onetime rivals appear to have been training with each other in recent weeks ahead of their respective tests.
Usyk took to social media over the weekend, revealing the pair had attended his Rising Stars show together too.
