Canelo Alvarez has drafted in Jaron Ennis to help him prepare for his mouth-watering clash with Terence Crawford next month .
On September 13, Crawford and Canelo will meet in a major encounter that will see Crawford take a jump up to super-middleweight to face to the Mexican icon.
Crawford has won undisputed honours in two weight classes and he can add to that when he takes on Canelo as all four world titles will be up for grabs.
Canelo begins the fight a slight favourite as he holds a huge advantage in weight, size, and experience against the much smaller man.
Despite those qualities, some within the trade believe that Crawford having less miles on the clock will be a deciding factor as he could be too fresh for Canelo.
Ahead of the bout, it looks like Canelo is a taking things very serious and adding Ennis to his training set-up is designed to help him go up against a fighter of a similar size.
Ennis’s pressure style also has some small similarities and although he is not a southpaw like Crawford, he is a capable switch hitter and he will easily be able to remain left-handed when in camp with Canelo.
Canelo has prepared diligently throughout his lengthy career and with one of his biggest fights fast approaching, he is leaving nothing to chance with the threat of Crawford loitering with intent.
