CONFIRMED: Canelo Alvarez's fight return moved back to October
DAZN News can confirm that Canelo Alvarez's fight with WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli has now been moved back to October.
The legendary Mexican fighter was scheduled to return to the ring on September 12, which would be be his first fight since his defeat to Terence Crawford in September 2025.
But, as first reported by The Ring Magazine, the world title fight will now be moved into October, with a new date yet to be confirmed.
Canelo, 63-3-2 (39 KO's), underwent an elbow operation following his loss to Crawford, which has kept him out of action until the second quarter of this year.
This could potentially be a factor in moving the fight back one month, with Canelo starting his training camp later than originally planned.
The clash with Mbilli, 29-0-1 (24 KOs), will remain as part of Riyadh Season and will be live and exclusive worldwide on DAZN PPV and Ultimate Tier.
