Carl Froch is expecting a close encounter when Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn meet for a second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night, live on DAZN .
With the contest constantly changing direction as each fighter looked to adjust, it was Eubank Jr who had more left in the tank as he produced a spirited finish to take the verdict on all three scorecards.
With their fathers waiting three years to renew hostilities, Eubank Jr and Benn will do it in an immediate rematch, and victory for Benn could even set up in an intriguing trilogy meeting in 2026.
Froch, a former world champion who featured in several high-profile grudge clashes, is the latest fight figure to have his say on the contest.
Retired for over ten years, the Nottingham man has been linked to several comeback bouts against the likes of Darren Till and Jake Paul, but with his focus set on this weekend's clash, what does he think will go down in London?
“Yeah, I think it’s close. Think Conor Benn’s fitness and toughness and what he learned from the first fight and the fact that he’s got youth on his side,” said Froch when speaking to Sportscasting.com .
“I just think that he’ll be okay unless he gets caught flush with more than one shot. I just can’t see it happening. But I don’t think you can just pick an out and out winner and give a full like convincing reason why Conor Benn wins.
“So, it’s still a pick-'em fight and I’ve now got Benn as a slight favourite, just based on the first fight, how it went and I like Conor Benn as well. I think Eubank Jr can be a bit of a prick, a bit of an obnoxious p---k, you’ve all seen it.”
