Carl Froch was involved in many great fights.

Carl Froch enjoyed a stellar career that saw him reach the top of the super-middleweight division by beating some world class names.

The Nottingham man only endured two defeats, to Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler, but what boxer gave Froch the biggest ‘beating’ of his professional run that came to an end in 2014?

The final two fights of Froch’s reign saw him involved in a bitter and personal rivalry with domestic foe, George Groves.

Groves was controversially stopped in the first meeting after dropping Froch and being in control, but he was emphatically knocked out when the pair met in an immediate rematch. Froch has paid tribute to his former opponent.

“I’ve got it up there with probably the worst beating I’ve ever had,” said Froch when speaking to Talksport about his battle with Groves.

“When you look at how many fights I had, world title fights back-to-back, for me to concede that George Groves gave me the biggest beating of my life, that’s a big statement.”
