Chris Billam-Smith is looking to fight for the second time this year around the "end of November [or] early December", as he awaits the birth of his latest child.
The former WBO cruiserweight champion came through a bruising contest with American Brandon Glanton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last time out in April.
It marked a first fight for 'The Gentleman' since his unification loss to Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez in late 2024, and put the star back on track for two-time title success.
But Billam-Smith is not rushing back into the ring with his wife Mia due to give birth next month, despite a WBO order to face Roman Fress in Ramirez's absence.
“We’ve got [the] baby on the way in two weeks,” he told The Ring. “So, I need to be around for that to help support Mia. I want to be there as well for the little man.
"I want to be here and be as present as I can. I’ll still be training and stuff, but there is just a lot going on in life. I need to be around for that
"I’m staying fit when I’m at home at the moment, and I just need to keep pushing on really. After that I’ll be looking to be in there full-time again from the end of September.
"That means [the] end of November [or] early December I can be prepared for. I’ve known about Fress for a few years. He’s got a decent record
"His only defeat was a split decision. He’s won against a few unbeaten lads since then and has a good record.
"[He is] a decent all-rounder [and] super tough. It’s now a case of waiting to see if the fight gets made and then I’ll do more study.”
