This time around, both men return with their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, firmly at their side, looking to settle a generational rivalry for good before the world's eyes.

Each star has come a long way from the origins of their rivalry, through plenty of twists and turns on a personal and professional journey that has caught the public's imagination.

Ahead of fight night in north London, DAZN News takes a look at the Road (Back) to Tottenham for both men - and how the intervening years have brought their destinies here.

A prelude to war... and an egg-cellent explosion

Just over three years ago, Eubank Jr. and Benn were set to share the ring at London's The O2 Arena in October 2022, before the latter's adverse test findings scuppered the bout.

Both men went in search of different things in the intervening period - the former into a duology with Liam Smith, the latter into a drawn-out battle to clear his name on the books.

By the time a rescheduled fight was made in late 2024, dated for April 2025, tempers had reached boiling point between both men, their rivalry now intensified by their bad blood.

Eubank Jr. was accosted by Benn during fight week for his bout with Kamil Szeremeta, and sustained mudslinging from both sides, adding further fuel to a fiery war of words, too.

Then, flashpoint, at a press conference in Manchester, Eubank Jr. slapped Benn with an egg during their face-off, capturing the attention of the boxing world in dramatic scenes.

It meant that the pair headed into the final week of preparations for their bout in north London, fired up to deliver on the biggest stage of their lives - and with no quarter to give.

A dramatic weight cut... and a legendary reunion

Plenty was made in the build-up over the agreement of a rehydration clause that ensured neither man could gain more than ten pounds above the middleweight limit on fight night.

For Benn, vaulting up two divisions to face his rival, this proved no problem - but for Eubank Jr., it resulted in a difficult week that saw the star miss the all-important weight cut.

It resulted in a fine that would subsequently pay for his opponent to get a new Rolls-Royce - but ultimately, after all the drama, it would be the latter who claimed the last laugh.

After a prolonged public estrangement, Eubank Jr. arrived on fight night, accompanied by father Eubank Sr., to an incredible reception from a delighted crowd inside Tottenham.

That energy sustained the star through his ringwalk - and may well have helped him steady the ship when the contest began, as a wild Benn sought to deliver his blows early on.

Eubank Jr. ultimately took control in the middle of the bout, working well to temper his younger opponent, even as their contest appeared to see-saw during the closing rounds.

He did enough in the end, securing a 116-112 result on all three scorecards for a unanimous decision - and with it, victory to maintain Eubank supremacy in a generational rivalry.

A grudging respect... and a second dance

Both camps had alluded to a two-fight deal in the build-up to their first encounter, and tongues were already wagging on a rematch before the dust had even settled at Spurs.

Despite Benn professing a desire to drop back to welterweight for a title challenge, the pair agreed to identical terms and set a September date, reportedly at Wembley Stadium.

However, Eubank Jr. subsequently forced promoters to reschedule the event by two months, and then used the launch press conference to launch some major allegations.

The star claimed that his post-fight ambulence had been delayed upon leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while he pushed back on suggestions his father was paid to appear.

But even as Eubank Jr. and Benn slung insults back and forth again, both men admitted to a level of respect they had previously not afforded each other after a brutal first war.

A handshake at the end of their DAZN Face-Off suggested, if not a thaw, then a modicum of appreciation for each other, and how they can bring the best out of their approaches.

Now, after a slow-burn fight week, the day has arrived - and it's time to see which man will boil over and secure victory in the ring to put the final word on a generational rivalry.
