Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn - Former world champion names the fighter who he thinks will be 'shattered' as he makes emphatic prediction
The rivalry, passed down to them by their fathers who clashed twice in the early 1990s, has been brewing for anumber of years now and it set to explode on Saturday night when they clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, live on DAZN .
The pair were set to meet in 2022, but that bout was pulled at the last minute when it emerged that Benn had an adverse finding in his drug test, something later blamed on contaminated eggs.
This excuse provided Eubank Jr with an excuse to slap Benn with an egg when they came together earlier this year to publicise the fight, and the incident drew wild scenes as the teams of both fighters had to be separated by security guards.
This has taken the feud to a bitter level, and it could take an even nastier turn when the pair fulfil their media obligations this week as well as the weigh in which takes place on Friday.
Barry Jones, a former world champion who will be commentating on the fight, has delivered his verdict on what he believes will go down this weekend.
“I’m gonna go with Eubank Jr. A very late stoppage. Perhaps even the last two rounds,” said Jones when speaking exclusively to DAZN News .
“Benn is going to start fast, but if Eubank Jr can override that storm then his jab will frustrate Benn in stages and keep him quiet meaning he loses energy.
“By the time the stoppage comes, Benn will be shattered and that will make the fight much easier for Eubank Jr.”
