Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn - Gennadiy Golovkin's former trainer makes bold fight prediction

Abel Sanchez is one of the few people in the boxing industry who is giving his backing to Conor Benn this weekend.

The veteran trainer, the man who took Gennadiy Golovkin to the top of the middleweight division, is very much in the minority.

Eubank Jr begins the fight favourite, and he received support from the boxing community when they have been forced to pick a winner between the British rivals who will clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night , live on DAZN

Eubank Jr was close to sealing a fight with Golovkin in 2106 before it went to Kell Brook so Sanchez will have spent plenty of time analysing the Brighton man.

The former world title challenger will welcome Benn to middleweight and the size difference between the pair is forcing a lot of people to give Eubank Jr the edge with Benn essentially being a welterweight.

Despite Benn making the jump, Sanchez has no concerns about the unbeaten fighter going up in weight and he is confident that Benn can get in the ring and get the job done.

“You’re looking at Conor as being the smaller guy. He’s going to be so much stronger than Chris Eubank, because Chris doesn’t use his strength,” said Sanchez when speaking to Fight Hub TV

“He tried to use his boxing ability. He’s got a nice jab. He drops his hands, he tries to be on his toes and tries to be things that are not going to be good against a Conor Benn.”

“Conor Benn is going to attack from the first bell to the last bell, and he’s going to push him around, muscle him around, foul him. It’s going to be an ugly fight. He [Benn] stops him late. Against Liam Smith, he [Eubank Jr] kept dropping his hands right before he dropped him. He was dropping them below his waist.”
