Michael Conlan, Olympic bronze medalist

“I don’t like the fact that the rehydration clause is still there. I think that’s completely wrong. If Benn really wanted his revenge, then the rehydration clause should have been taken out. The first fight was a great watch, a great spectacle –– not great in terms of actual boxing.

“People forget the doping scandal a bit, so I’m not a fan of it. I hope it’s the same kinda fight, only cleaner from Chris.”

George Groves, the former opponent of Chris Eubank Jr

“I think Conor Benn wins the rematch, I think there’s more for him to gain, avenge the loss, Eubank Jr got a lot sort of wrong in the first one and he tried to fight too many people up too, he took on too much…

“If you think about who wants it more, I think it’s Conor Benn this time.”

Jack Catterell, British light-welterweight

"Conor’s my guy. We’ve supported each other, watched each other fight, and I think he’s going to do it this time by stoppage.

“I think he had him hurt a few times; there were a few moments in the fight where I thought he was going to go.

“Credit to Eubank but I think, this time around, [Benn’s] going to take the emotion out of it – it’s more business – and I believe he’ll get the job done. I think [Benn will stop him] after five rounds – mid to late rounds.”

James DeGale, former Eubank opponent

"It could go either way, but if I'm being pushed, then I reckon Conor Benn is going to do it this time.

"He just needs to do a little bit more, and he can win the fight. It was close.

"Conor Benn needs to be more disciplined and not let the occasion get to him.

"That is what cost him the last time they fought."

Shawn Porter, two-time welterweight world champion

“You’re not losing that weight, you’re carrying that weight, but you’re carrying inexperience along with it, and one of the things he’s carrying is that he’s fighting a guy that’s legitimately taller, legitimately bigger.

“Once he gets past the big explosive punches that he missed, which of course helps him slow down anyway, he didn’t know how to get at Chris Eubank Jr.

Tony Bellew, former cruiserweight champion

“It’s another big fight between two fighters who really don’t need to be doing it.

“I've said before I don’t know how either man is motivated considering how they grew up, but the hunger possessed by the pair of them really is special.

“In the first fight, I felt Benn slowed down and if he just would’ve paced himself a little bit better instead of looking to take his opponent's head off with every shot, I think he could’ve had more in the tank and stayed strong right until the very end.

“That will be the big change he has to make. He will know deep down the mistakes he made, and I think he will put them right this time to win on points.”

Carl Froch, former super-middleweight champion

“Chris Eubank, size-wise is a slight favourite, even closer to slight favorite than the first time I just think he’s probably got that edge.

“But listen, on the first Froch on Fighting pre-fight prediction – best channel in the business – I’m probably gonna pick Conor Benn.

“I think the youngness and the freshness and what he learned from the first fight will be enough.”

Liam Smith, former light-heavyweight champion

"The first fight was better than I expected. I expected Chris to win the first fight, but I thought Conor performed better than I expected.

"I think I fancy Conor [to win the rematch] a little bit more than I did the first fight, and probably if you asked me to put my money where my mouth is, I think Conor might win this one."

Joe Calzaghe, two-weight world champion

"I wouldn't want to put a bet on it. If I had to, I'd always go with the size [Eubank Jr] like I did in the first fight,"

Ishmael Davis, faces Sam Gilley on the undercard

"They both let the hate take over. There was no skill. It was just who could fight harder and longer,” said Davis when speaking to Boxing News.

“That will change in the second fight, which is going to play a big factor in who wins. I believe Conor is more mentally settled now and now he’s carrying the power and he’s better at the weight. He’s carrying the power better. And I believe Conor might stop him.”

Amir Khan, former light-welterweight champion

“He could have done more, but he was maybe holding back a little bit. I think it maybe a closer fight than the first one, but I think Eubank will still take that fight, maybe take the win, he has the confidence that he’s beat him once before.

“He’s bigger than him physically, and I think experience, because he’s the favourite going into the fight.

“One thing about Eubank is that he’s won a lot of fans over recently, respect to him there.”

Harlem Eubank, boxer and cousin of Chris Eubank Jr

“I can’t see anything other than Chris Eubank Jr stoppage. He’s fully focused.

“I’ve seen how he trained, how he applied himself for the Liam Smith rematch. And again, it’s more of the same when Junior’s prepared for what’s in front of him.

“You see a completely different guy, and that’s the one I’m expecting to see this time around.”

Johnny Nelson, former cruiserweight champion

“I don’t think Eubank can improve on his performance. At times in the fight, I thought his legs looked stiff, looked stationary, looked like he was stuck in quicksand.

“I do see improvement there for Conor and I do think the result will be the other way around in the next fight. I think he’ll go the distance all over again but I think Conor now knows what he’s capable of doing.

“That’s a bold statement to make because I have ultimate respect for both fighters, to Chris and his dad, Conor and his dad, but you’re saying what you see. If they fight again, I think Conor wins.”

Roy Jones Jr, former four-weight world champion

“I think it’s going to be a little tougher this time because I’m sure Benn, if he’s smart, he’s going to make some adjustments. And if he makes adjustments, it’s going to make it real good, fun again.

"I expect another brilliant fight like it was the first time. Eubank probably should win it again because of his size, but I think it’ll be a better fight than the first one.”
