Does Daniel Dubois have any chance of beating Oleksandr Usyk? Ricky Hatton gives his verdictDAZN
The British boxing legend looked ahead to the unified world heavyweight title fight.

British boxing legend Ricky Hatton believes fans should not be quick to dismiss Daniel Dubois' chances of beating unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk and Dubois meet in Poland on August 26 in what will be the Ukrainian's first outing since a second successive win over Anthony Joshua and the chaos that was the negotiations for a potential undisputed fight with WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Now Usyk turns his attention to his mandatories as he looks to keep hold of this IBF, WBA and WBO titles, and up first is Dubois.

Usyk is a huge favourite going into this fight as he comes up against an opponent in Dubois who has failed when facing the best the heavyweight division. The prime example being his clash with Joe Joyce which saw "The Juggernaut" stop Dubois in the tenth round of their contest.

This is the only loss of Dubois' 20-fight professional and the 25-year-old has won four back-to-back fights going into this matchup with Usyk.

While Dubois does certainly posses immense knockout power, many can see Usyk using his superior foot movement to avoid any threat the British challenger will pose, but Hatton has pointed out that in heavyweight boxing, anything can happen and Dubois does have a chance of producing a huge upset.

"Everyone would put their last pound on Usyk," Hatton said when speaking to DAZN on behalf of Genting Casino

"But if you look at the size difference, granted AJ could not get past Usyk, and what can happen in the heavyweight division sometimes, if you start writing Daniel Dubois off, that could come back to bite you.

"Fighters like Usyk, Olympic gold medalist, undisputed cruiserweight champion, unified heavyweight champion, they don’t come around too often.

"If Dubois did not land a glove on him, none of us would be shocked, but if Dubois does hit him on the chin, we should not be shocked either.

"Especially in the heavyweight division, you have got to be open minded, but I think Usyk will win on points, but it’s unfair on Dubois to write him off completely."
