Eddie Hearn has identified two heavyweights in his stable who he believes could one day compete with Moses Itauma, naming Teremoana Teremoana and Leo Atang.
In the last two years, Itauma has proven himself to be the brightest hope in boxing with a number of stunning displays.
Last August, Itauma was expected to receive a stern test from Dillian Whyte, but he showed no respect for the credentials of the former world title challenger as he blew him away in one round.
Franklin has shared the ring with some of boxing’s biggest names, and he has never been stopped despite going up against the likes of Whyte and Anthony Joshua.
If successful against Franklin, Itauma looks set to head straight into a world title shot at some point in 2026, meaning a lengthy reign could be about to get underway.
Hearn, who is a big admirer of Itauma, is currently plotting numerous heavyweight journeys of his own and he has revealed who could provide Itauma with problems moving forward.
“[Itauma] is an exceptional talent. He’s a one-off talent; that’s the best word. A one-off,” said Hearn when talking to Talksport .
“I’ve got to find some heavyweights that can rock with him over the next three or four years, and I’ve got two that I think will really rock with him. One will rock with him in 6 to 12 months, and that’s Teremoana [Teremoana], and the other one is Leo Atang.”
"If Leo is going to go and fight for the world heavyweight championship, he’s gonna be against Moses. I can give you the hype, but the reality is, anything can happen. You really need a lot of luck along the way.”
