Eddie Hearn has issued a warning to one fighter.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have come face to face again to hype their April 20 showdown that will take place in New York.

The super-lightweight pair, two of boxing’s biggest stars, will look to settle a long rivalry that goes all the way back to their amateur days.

Haney, a former undisputed ruler at 135lbs, begins the fight a significant favourite following an impressive win over Regis Prograis last year that saw him become WBC champion at super lightweight.

Garcia is aiming to make 2024 better than last year when he lost to Gervonta Davis, and Eddie Hearn, very much part of Team Haney, has had his say on Garcia.

“Ryan deserves a lot of credit because if he loses to Devin Haney, he’s in a pretty tough spot,” said Hearn when speaking to Fight Hub.

“He’s moving up to 140, so this is his true weight class, there’s no rehydration clause, and Devin is really difficult to beat. It’s not like you’re in with a guy that is a bit limited, and you can find a way. Devin is very tricky and very skilful.

“So, again, if Ryan loses this fight, he’s not in a great position, but he’s also young.”
