The next generation of Matchroom stars will be in action this weekend as they feature on a fascinating show in England's North East region.

Pat McCormack headlines the bill as he looks to maintain his unbeaten record and move closer to a world title shot by getting past Mexico’s Miguel Parra.

The undercard features a wealth of young talent and Eddie Hearn is pinning his hopes on these fighters being the future stars of British boxing.

Leo Atang – Heavyweight

The next potential Anthony Joshua or Moses Itauma fights on Saturday night and at only 18 years of age, Leo Atang is learning boxing the hard way after resisting the lure of amateur prizes.

Hearn has recently seen Frank Warren take Itauma and Daniel Dubois from teenagers to the grand stage, and he will be hopeful he can do even better with the York puncher.

Atang appears to have all the qualities required to become a big name in boxing. It is now up to those guiding him to ensure he gets there and that continues this weekend.

Tiah Mai Ayton – Super-bantamweight

The female knockout artist never tasted defeat as an amateur inside a boxing ring, and she also excelled in various fighting disciplines demonstrating that she is highly skilled and very capable

Tiah Mai Ayton’s debut back in June was an impressive one and the 19-year-old showed incredible maturity as she scored a brutal second round stoppage.

World titles surely cannot be too far away for Ayton, and she has her second professional contest on Saturday night.

DAZN - Home of Boxing Cameron Vuong – Lightweight

At 23, Cameron Vuong has already featured in several high-profile fights and a quick start to his career has seen him climb the rankings at a rapid speed.

Vuong’s 2024 meeting with former European ruler, Gavin Gwynne, was a severe risk that almost went wrong, but he took the lessons from that win and looked sensational when stopping Jordan Flynn in his next fight.

Vuong is eager to go over old ground with Gwynne, and he can sharpen his tools for that possible rematch this weekend.

Adam Maca – Bantamweight

British fight fans will get their first sample of Adam Maca this weekend when the 18-year-old Brighton man has his second fight.

Maca impressed on his pro debut and he got a brief taste of world title level when he appeared on the undercard of Richardson Hitchins vs George Kambosos inside the Madison Square Garden Theater in June.

Plenty in boxing are excited about Maca and his journey continues on Saturday night.
