Mexico's Navarrete has suffered just one defeat in his 35-fight career and was most recently in action last April where he beat Christopher Diaz.
Gonzalez's last fight was in September 2020 where he overcame Miguel Marriaga for the WBO's International strap at featherweight.
His only loss in his 25-fight career came in October 2019 when he challenged Shakur Stevenson for the WBO belt.
