Allen vs. Hrgovic on DAZN subscription - Saturday

May is closing in on the halfway point, and already, fight fans have been treated to a slew of top-notch fights live worldwide on DAZN.

Now, with one heavyweight world title fight in the rearview mirror, the sport looks towards another - but not before a trip to Doncaster.

Dave Allen ticks off the hometown show dream with a stadium headline date against Filip Hrgovic - and intends to make it count too.

Yet the pair are not the only names in the mix, with several other big names seeking to make a mark on the sporting stage at large.

Here, DAZN News looks ahead to the week in boxing and picks out five key stories to keep an eye on over the next seven days.

Allen takes aim at a major scalp

No stranger to undercard spots on bigger bills, 'The White Rhino' takes centre stage at the Eco-Power Stadium on Saturday night.

Since he earned a career revival with his Johnny Fisher duology, Allen has notched one win and one loss to bolster his ring record.

Should he defeat Hrgovic, it would mark the biggest scalp of his career - and perhaps tee up another major twist for the journeyman.

Hrgovic hunts title-shot momentum

The hard-hitting Croatian arrives in South Yorkshire all too aware that he arrives as a heavy favourite, given his ranked reputation.

Hrgovic, a Rio 2016 medalist, has made no secret of his desire to lock up a potential title shot, with just one loss against his name.

If he hopes to remain in the hunt, then he must dispatch Allen - and with some style too - as the heavyweight division rolls onwards.

Yoka back after Okolie bust

Having been due to enjoy a home show of his own in Paris last month, Tony Yoka will get the chance to fight again on the undercard.

The Rio 2016 champion was due to face Lawrence Okolie before an adverse test result for the latter saw their clash scotched instead.

Now, Yoka makes the short trip across the English Channel and up the M1 in pursuit of a new scalp, seeking another triumph to boot.

Davis out to topple Albright

Leaving Doncaster for Norfolk, Virginia, Keyshawn Davis finally has his rematch with Nahir Albright, almost three years on from their first.

Then, the former notched a majority decision in 2023, before it was overturned after the Tokyo 2020 star tested positive for marijuana.

Since then, Davis has reigned as WBO lightweight champion, but will seek to deliver success at super-lightweight this time instead.

Usyk enters final preparations

When he's not busy recreating Rocky III montages with old rival Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk is preparing for Rico Verhoeven.

With less than a fortnight to his bout at the Giza necropolis against the Dutch kickboxer, the Ukrainian will be doubling down hard.

The overwhelming favourite, Usyk, should retain his WBC crown with relative ease - but he will need to be wary of a banana-skin.
