Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio look set to clash for a second time this year 11 years after their first meeting.
With the bout scheduled for September, two of boxing’s biggest names will collide and it’s likely to be a fight that will have the whole world talking.
In their first meeting, the eagerly anticipated clash failed to live up to the hype as Mayweather took a points decision in a fight that failed to catch fire.
Mayweather would only fight two more times professionally after this contest, but he has still competed in exhibition bouts since his last official contest against Conor McGregor in 2017.
Pacquiao seemingly walked away from boxing in 2021 after losing to Yordenis Ugas, but a return four years later almost saw him crowned WBC champion as he was unlucky not to defeat Mario Barrios with their bout being scored a draw.
Zab Judah, one of boxing’s best operators at his peak, knows what it takes to share the ring with Mayweather after being outpointed by the Michigan man in 2006, and he has provided his verdict on his former rival's sequel with Pacquiao.
“I mean yeah, you’re gonna give Manny an edge, because he has movement, he has fluidness and he has those good combinations.,” said Judah when speaking to Mill City Boxing.
“He is a combination puncher with speed and power, so he is always going to do good – and he is elusive.
“The only thing with Manny Pacquiao – his biggest problem is his defence, sometimes he slacks on the defence and gets caught standing straight there and allows his opponent to connect. Other than that, the guy is phenomenal.”
