Lucas Browne made his bareknuckle boxing debut this past weekend and he was able to score a quick win after Corey Harrison was stopped at the end of the round.
The Australian heavyweight, once one of the biggest punchers in the division, shot to fame in 2016 when he won a version of the world title by stopping Ruslan Chagaev in a huge upset.
Browne would later be stripped due to failing a drug test and when he returned to action, he became something of a small attraction in Britain.
Facing Dillian Whyte in 2018, Browne was expected to test the Brixton man, but his limitations at the highest level were exposed as Whyte turned in one of the nest performances of his career to win in the sixth round.
The following year, Browne returned to London, the scene of his loss to Whyte, and it once again proved to be an unhappy hunting ground as he was badly beaten by Dave Allen .
Browne would pick up a great win in 2022 when stopping Junior Fa in the opening session, but that remain his last career win following three defeats since.
Moving to bareknuckle, Browne, who also has a win over James Toney back in 2013, has made a solid start in his new environment and his name value could open the door for bigger fights moving forward.
The former champion made plenty of high-profile enemies during his time in boxing, could they make the switch to bareknuckle like many former high-profile boxers, including James Degale , and renew their rivalry with him?
Browne, on current form, looks like he would be willing to accept any challenge that comes his way.
