<p>Lamont Roach gave Gervonta "Tank" Davis a scrappy fight Saturday night to the point where he threw and landed more punches than the boxing superstar.</p>

<p>After 12 rounds of action, judges inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York scored it 115-113 for Davis, 114-114 and 114-114 toward a majority draw — placing the only blemish on WBA lightweight world champion Davis' pro ledger which now stands at 30-0-1, 28 KOs.</p>

<p>The fight did have its share of controversy as "Tank" took a knee in the ninth round and rushed to his corner, though referee Steve Willis didn't register it as an official knockdown. Davis later said that he got his hair done and that grease seeped into his eye. Roach felt like he would have won if the knockdown counted.</p>

<p>Both Davis and Roach expressed desire to run it back in a rematch as soon as possible.</p>

After 12 rounds of action, judges see it 115-113 for Davis, 114-114 and 114-114 for a majority draw!

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 12

Davis calls for the crowd to get into it as the last round starts. He snaps a right hand and seconds later, a left. A left hook lands for Roach but gets countered by a shot from the champ. "Tank" misses with an uppercut but lands a left. Davis sneaks in a body shot and adds to it with a couple of more. Thirty seconds left. The final bell tolls and that's it. They tap gloves in a sign of respect. A solid showing from Roach who moves up from 130 to 135 pounds and more than held his own. Will it be enough for the upset? Let's see how judges score it. (10-9 Davis, 114-114)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 11

"Tank" has low output but has landed 45 percent of his punches. "Tank" is now piecing shots together but Roach counters and plows forward with scrappy fighting. Roach bends the knee but it's not registered a knockdown, either. Roach catches "Tank" with a stiff shot that the champ feels the effects of. (10-9 Roach, 105-104 Roach)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 10

Upon instant replay, Davis did take a knee that should have been registered as a knockdown, though he did not appear hurt in the slightest way. "Tank" plows forward, looking for his offense. A stinging right hand from Roach lands and he adds to it with more output. Roach is outworking Davis this round. (10-9 Roach, 95-95)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 9

Peculiar moment as "Tank" takes a knee and rushes to his corner where his face gets wiped by a towel. The referee warns him that it appears as if it is a knockdown if he takes a knee like that but doesn't register a knockdown. Davis comes out with explosive shots following the strange sequence. But Roach lands a chopping counter right under 30 seconds. Still, this is Davis' round. (10-9 Davis, 86-85 Davis)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 8

Roach's corner tells him "you can punch with him." Intriguing stuff. They trade shots under the 90-second mark. A counter left lands but Roach backs him up with a counter right. Big moment. A left uppercut lands for Roach now to which Davis responds with a body shot. Counter right for Roach connects now, too. A telling round as Roach holds his ground. (10-9 Roach, 76-76)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 7

Davis is finding increasing success countering. And the champ is adding pressure. Roach fights back but Davis roars back. A left hook and then a right hook lands for Roach. And another right for the challenger. He is trading with "Tank." Davis doubles up on the jab and lands, before ripping the body with a right to which Roach fires shots back. That was an all-action round with the slight edge going to the champ. (10-9 Davis, 67-66 Davis)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 6

Roach sneaks a left jab through Davis' guard. The champ fires back with a strong combination. A left upstairs is followed by another left to the body from Davis. "Tank" is starting to gain some steam. Davis, in pursuit, lands a lunging left. (10-9 Davis, 57-57)

'Tank' Davis vs Roach; Round 5

Punch output continues to be low. "Tank" is landing sneaky body shots that should take a toll later on. He continues to dig into Roach's body. Davis doubles up on lefts to Roach. They are talking to each other quite a bit during this round. Davis launches a shoulder thrust under Roach's chin. They throw verbal jabs until and after the bell. (10-9 Davis, 48-47 Roach)

<p>Davis' corner is calling for the champ to set Roach up with the left hook. Instead, it is a lead left hook from Roach that clips Davis. The champ is a bit more active here. "Tank" is moving with a nice bounce in his step, letting go of his hands more and feinting quite a bit. Davis had this round won, but took his eye off the ball to complain to the ref about a late shot and was clipped with a hard jab. "Tank" with a sharp counter left off a Roach miss, before digging to the challenger's body. Another counter follows from Davis moments later and he adds a body shot there, too. Some Roach jabs are slipping through, others are meeting Davis' gloves. A chopping right hand lands for Roach now. Closer round. (10-9 Davis, 29-28 Roach)
