Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez returns to the ring for the first time since winning the WBA cruiserweight championship as he takes on fellow title holder Chris Billam-Smith in a unification bout, live and for free on DAZN tonight as part of Latino Night.
Ramirez claimed the WBA crown by defeating Arsen Goulamirian in May, making the Mexican a two-weight world champion. He now turns his attention to Billiam-Smith, who has held the WBO cruiserweight title since May 2023.
Billam-Smith has successfully defended his title twice, most recently earning a unanimous decision victory over Richard Riakporhe in June.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of Zurdo vs. Billam-Smith.

Ramirez returns to the Middle East for the first time since he lost to Dmitry Bivol in Abu Dhabi in late 2022, when the Mexican was trying to add the WBA light heavyweight title to his trophy case. It remains the only loss in a stellar career for the 33-year-old, and it is also the lone fight that Ramirez has taken part in outside of North America.
Since the loss to Bivol, Ramirez has defeated Joe Smith Jr. and the aforementioned Arsen Goulamirian.
Like Ramirez, Billam-Smith only has a single loss in his career, with that coming against Richard Riakporhe back in 2019. "The Gentleman" has since rattled off 11 straight victories, including a rematch against Riakporhe that stands as his most recent bout.
The 34-year-old defeated Lawrence Okolie for the WBO title in May 2023 and has held it ever since.
There's very little difference between the two fighters on a physical level, with Zurdo standing a half-inch taller than his opponent and with the combatants sporting an identical reach.
