The Sydney-based superstar could lay a claim to be the best active pound-for-pound fighter when he landed in Manchester twenty years ago.
But in a star-making performance still celebrated in British boxing to this day, Hatton dethroned the IBF champion to rubber-stamp his mark.

The original 'Hit Man' had never fought beyond his native Australia when he headed to Atlantic City to face the WBC light-heavyweight champion.
Yet called in at short notice to face Andries, and seemingly close to collapse after five rounds, Harding roared back to a last-round TKO triumph.
The Briton would get his revenge in a rematch the following year to reclaim the title, before the Sydney fighter took it back in a 1991 trilogy bout.

On the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora's heavyweight dance in 2020, the Briton and the Australian served up a close contest.
With the chance for a world title shot looming for the winner, ex-IBF featherweight star Selby was bidding to set up a two-weight slice of history.

Instead, Kambosos edged a split decision and subsequently earned a shot at Teofimo Lopez Jr., where he became unified lightweight champion.
Daniel Geale vs Darren Barker
After four straight defences of his IBF middleweight title, the 'Real Deal' was out to make it five on the bounce when he headed to New Jersey.
Instead, the Tasmanian was toppled by the Briton, who survived a sixth-round knockdown to go the distance and seal a split-decision victory.
It ended Geale's remarkable run of form, while Barker would fight one more time before hanging up his gloves and turning to punditry with DAZN.
