Chantelle Cameron believes Katie Taylor is 'scared' to take a trilogy bout with her, pushing back against the latter's suggestion she would pass on a third bout with her.

Taylor completed her hat-trick of victories over Amanda Serrano earlier this month to underline her status as one of the sport's greatest boxers this century in style again.

The only loss on her professional record came in a May 2023 loss to Cameron, with the star subsequently avenging her defeat in a rematch six months later by decision.

Talk of a definitive trilogy has persisted since, especially with Cameron now mandatory challenger to Taylor's WBC super lightweight title, part of her undisputed crown.

But in the aftermath of defeating Serrano, Taylor suggested she would pass on a fight as she is not a big enough name, indicating she has made her rival "enough money".

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Cameron believes her rival is in fact afraid to step back into the ring with her, and expects to still challege for a title before 2025 is out.

"I take it as a compliment," she said. "She's scared to fight me. It's a hard enough sport without talking about money and purses and who's getting paid what.

"Now it's either fight Katie Taylor or she vacates the belt. All I know is I'm going to be fighting for the belt next. I don't know who it's going to be next

"But I do know I'm going to be boxing for the world title again before the end of the year. I don't think she will retire. I think she'll have an easy fight."
