The undisputed women's lightweight title rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano on May 20 will not go ahead as planned.
The pair were set to meet in Dublin, Ireland in what was set to be one of the biggest events of the year, but this has now been postponed after Serrano picked up an injury.
The below statement released by Matchroom explained that despite the postponement, both parties are working together in order to arrange a new date for the rematch.
"Due to an injury sustained by Amanda Serrano, Matchroom Boxing and Most Valuable Promotions regret to announce that the Taylor-Serrano II bout on May 20 in Dublin will not go ahead as planned.
"The teams are in discussions about finding a revised date for the bout. Futher details will follow in due course."
Taylor and Serrano first went head-to-head at the iconic Madison Square Garden in what was a historic occasion for women's sport and the fight lived up to the hype with Taylor successfully defending her undisputed title after being declared the winner via a split decision.
