Keyshawn Davis is backing Floyd Mayweather to make it 2-0 when he faces Manny Pacquiao for a second time in September .
Last month, the legendary pair, major rivals in the modern era of boxing, shocked the world when they announced that they would be taking part in a rematch 11 years on from their first fight which was a major box office success.
Then, a global audience tuned in to see Mayweather take the win as outpointed Pacquiao in a bout that failed to live up to the pre-fight expectations.
Since that bout, Mayweather has only featured in two professional fights as he closed out his career back then with wins against Andre Berto and Conor McGregor.
Pacquiao continued fighting years after his loss to Mayweather before seemingly walking away in 2021 after a loss to Yordenis Ugas.
The Filipino icon broke his time away from the sport last July when he returned to the ring to face Mario Barrios in a world title fight that was eventually scored a draw.
Despite Pacquiao being the more active fighter recently, Davis, one of boxing’s brightest young talents, still believes Mayweather will get the job done.
“It’s a legendary fight. I feel like it’s going to be a different fight now that they’re at two different ages. They both retired for a long time, and I think it’s going to be a different fight,” said Davis when speaking to FightHype.
“Floyd, for sure. Because he already won the first time. You are only as good as your last performance, you know what I’m saying? Last performance Floyd won.”
