Fighting stateside for the first time since 2021, "The Monster" Naoya Inoue got way more than he might have bargained for with a gutsy, game Ramon Cardenas who dropped him with a left hook in the second round.
But the undisputed junior featherweight world champion made the adjustments necessary to storm back, delivering a knockdown of his own in the seventh round before overwhelming Cardenas with a barrage of punches for a roaring eighth-round TKO to defend his crown at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night.
With the dramatic victory, Inoue improved to 30-0 with 27 KOs, extending his knockout streak to 11 straight fights.
Here is how the entire Inoue-Cardenas main card went.
