Brandon Figueroa believes he can become the first man to stop Nick Ball, insisting that he wants "the best of the best" before their clash.

The duo will meet on February 7 in the latter's hometown of Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena, with the WBA featherweight title on the line.

Figueroa, a two-weight world champion with a string of impressive performances under his belt, will arrive on Merseyside as the outsider.

But speaking at Wednesday's press conference, the star insisted that it was a no-brainer to chase his mandatory option against Ball, too.

Introducing DAZN Ultimate Tier

"This is the fight that we want, [between] world champions [and] elite-level fighters," he said. "He's a world champion for a reason.

"I told my promoter and manager, and team that we don't want easy fights. We want the best of the best, and I believe that this [is the] fight.

"It's a world title fight.  When they offered Nick Ball, I immediately said yes. He comes to fight. I'm prepared to throw as many punches as I can.

"I want to take that belt back home. I will try and do everything in my power. It depends how he manages the storm, but I'm coming with everything.

"So far, it's worked for me. I like to be the underdog. I'm fighting in his territory, but I'm coming with everything. If it turns into a war, I'm prepared for it."
