Daniel Dubois’ next fight could be a huge undisputed heavyweight title bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
Mike Coppinger from The Ring has reported the heavyweight champions are close to finalising a deal that will see them collide at Wembley Stadium on July 12.
Despite Dubois losing the fight, he did have some brief success, and protests were made after the fight after a shot that floored the Ukrainian was called low by the official.
Since that setback, Dubois has responded impressively with stoppage wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua.
The win over Joshua was a huge upset , but it made Dubois a genuine star and he now holds the IBF title that was once held by Usyk.
The unbeaten star goes into a potential fight with Dubois as the sport’s best fighter following impressive wins at both cruiserweight and heavyweight.
Last year, Usyk defeated Tyson Fury to become undisputed ruler and then followed up the result with another win over his British rival .
A second win over Dubois could see him become undisputed heavyweight champion for a second time.
