O'Shaquie Foster will be keeping an eye on Emanuel Navarrete vs. Eduardo Nunez
O’Shaquie Foster is just over two months removed from delivering the biggest win of his career — a boxing masterclass statement via near shutout of Stephen Fulton Jr. in December.
Now, the WBC super featherweight world champion is setting his sights even higher for 2026. The 32-year-old Texas native told DAZN News on Monday night that he wants to face the winner of next weekend’s super featherweight unification bout between WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete and IBF titleholder Eduardo Nunez, live on DAZN.
“It’d be one of my biggest wishes of this year,” he said about clashing with the Navarrete-Nunez victor. “It’d be a great opportunity to fight the winner of either one of them guys. It’d be three belts on the line.
“Finally,” he continued, “we’ll have some motion at 130 [pounds].”
The RingIf that motion does not come by being granted the opportunity to further unify the division against the Navarrete-Nunez winner, Foster is covering all his bases.
He started this month by putting the only other super featherweight world champion, WBA titleholder Lamont Roach, in his crosshairs as the two engaged in a heated exchange on X.
This shoot-your-shot approach will have Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) lined up for a title unification bout any way it should pan out as he will first see who emerges victorious between Navarrete (39-2-1 with 1 no contest) and Nunez (29-1, 27 KOs), live on DAZN on February 28.
In Navarrete’s sole action of 2025, the Mexican warrior retained his title via technical decision over Charly Suarez after the May bout was halted due to a cut over the champ’s eye in the eighth round. Navarrete led on the cards at the time the bout was stopped.
Meanwhile, Nunez delivered two victories in 2025, winning the IBF super featherweight world title with a unanimous decision over Masanori Rikishi in May before scoring a points win over Christopher Diaz in September.
