Allen vs. Hrgovic on DAZN subscription - Saturday

Many of boxing's biggest names were ringside on Saturday night as Daniel Dubois scored the WBO heavyweight world title against Fabio Wardley in dramatic fashion.

The British pair delivered one of the most thrilling fights ever seen on British soil, with the former climbing off the floor twice to claim an 11th-round instant classic win.

One fighter in attendance was frightening American prospect Joseph Awinongya Jr, who faces a huge decision regarding his own pro future in the coming months.

The recently turned 19-year-old has created something of a buzz on the amateur scene after registering numerous impressive displays at a variety of tournaments.

With the 2028 Olympics still over two years away, does Awinongya Jr wait to represent his country in Los Angeles, or could he be two years into a professional journey at that point?

This past weekend, Awinongya Jr appeared to be focusing on the professional game as he turned up in Manchester to observe the current landscape at the highest level, and he was treated to a superb battle as Wardley and Dubois did not disappoint.

Awinongya Jr was also pictured with Moses Itauma, another major heavyweight hope, and who would back against the pair competing for the sport’s biggest prize three or four years down the line?

For now, Awinongya Jr’s next move is still unknown, but with him taking in one of the division's best ever fights promoted by Frank Warren, the man currently moving major parts at heavyweight, could we see Awinongya Jr in a professional ring sooner rather than later?
