NEW YORK CITY — The minute the Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul fight was confirmed last month, the boxing world collectively wanted to know how the weight gap between ‘Tank,’ the WBA lightweight world champion, and Paul, who has primarily fought at cruiserweight and as high as heavyweight, would work.

Well, that inquiry was revealed during the kickoff press conference Monday night at the Palladium Theater in Times Square, New York City.

“The fighters have agreed and the commission has approved a maximum weight of 195 pounds for this exhibition,” Nakisa Bidarian, the CEO and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, told members of the media about the November 14 fight at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, and live on Netflix.

Bidarian also revealed that the bout will be contested over 10 three-minute rounds and with the fighters donning 12-ounce gloves.

The agreed-upon weight is rather startling, considering Davis is a current world titleholder at 135 pounds and Paul fought his last fight — a win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June — at just under 200 pounds.

So how much weight does team Paul anticipate the 5-foot-5 ‘Tank’ to enter the ring at on November 14?

“Ooh, man, at his walk-around weight, I’m not sure what that is,” Paul’s coach J’Leon Love told DAZN News, “maybe around 160.”

With Davis already possessing nightmarish knockout pop with 28 of his 30 victories coming by the way of stoppage for a knockout ratio of 93 percent, Love also anticipates the boxing sensation’s power to be enhanced with the extra pounds on his frame.

“Sure, if it’s done right, his power should grow,” Love added. “I just think pure talent out of Gervonta, I don’t think anything will be massed or slowed down. I think he just has natural ability.

“But overall, Jake will be the one who has to adjust to his different speed, size, range, all those different factors.”

Davis and Paul will engage in another press conference Tuesday evening in Miami.
