It was announced on Monday afternoon by Premier Boxing Champions that Sebastian Fundora will defend the WBC super welterweight title against former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman on Saturday, March 28, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Originally, Fundora and Thurman were supposed to fight in October, but the champion had to pull out due to a hand injury.
Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) last competed in July on the co-main event of Manny Pacquiao-Mario Barrios and defeated Tim Tszyu by seventh-round stoppage.
Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) will be fighting at 154 pounds for the second time. "One Time" made his super welterweight debut back in March 2025, going over to Australia and scoring a third-round knockout over Brock Jarvis. Now, Thurman will look to become a two-division world champion. It will only be Thurman's third bout since losing to Pacquiao by split decision in July 2020.
