'The procedure will be parliamentary' - Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn give predictions for April 26 fight
To no one's surprise, both Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn believe they will be victorious when they meet in their long-awaited April 26 bout in London.
Eubank and Benn will square off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a fight that will also be available live worldwide on DAZN PPV, putting an exclamation point on their long-running rivalry.
The build-up to the fight has made headlines around the world, mostly due to Eubank striking his opponent's face with an egg last month, but the bad blood ran deep even before that viral incident thanks in large part to their fathers' own legendary rivalry from three decades ago.
With weeks still to go until their fight, confidence is running high in each man. Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored this week, Eubank promised "one of the best fights in British boxing history" when the combatants step through the ropes next month.
When asked by Morgan to predict how the fight will unfold, Benn was blunt with his prognostication.
"He gets ironed out in four rounds," the 28-year-old Benn stated.
Eubank invoked his father's words for his own prediction, stating that "the procedure will be parliamentary."
When pressed by Morgan as to why he would choose to use similar phrasing towards his opponent that his father used towards Nigel Benn all those years ago, Eubank explained that the familial ties are still strong in the current rivalry and that the result would be similar to those 1990s fights.
"We are our fathers' sons," Eubank said. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as they say, and I will uphold the family name."
