Berlanga vs Sheeraz - July 12 DAZN PPV - Buy now

Tony Bellew is expecting two fighters to make a big statement when the action gets underway this weekend, live on DAZN

New York City hosts one of the grandest events of the year on Saturday when some of boxing’s most high-profile names collide with big prizes on the line.

PPV - Stevenson vs. Zepeda, Berlanga vs. Sheeraz

In the main event, Edgar Berlanga and Hamzah Sheeraz will face off with the winner set to become a huge star in the super-middleweight division with future lucrative opportunities coming later this year or early next

Showdowns with the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, and Chris Eubank Jr await the victor, so winning tomorrow is vital for both men as the road back for the loser could be a long one.

Elsewhere on the show, Shakur Stevenson has the opportunity to enhance his credentials when he defends his WBC lightweight strap against William Zepeda.

In recent years, the Newark man’s performances have been criticised for being dull and negative, but with the spotlight set to shine bright on him, Stevenson has to look impressive if he wants to secure major bouts against the likes of Gervonta Davis and Teofimo Lopez.

Bellew, a former cruiserweight world champion, will be watching the show and he is insistent on who will come out in top in both fights.

“Sheeraz for me as he’s the fighter who has more to his game and i think we may have seen the very best of Berlanga,” said Bellew when speaking to DAZN News

“Against Carlos Adames, there was pressure on Sheeraz and he’s struggling with the weight at 160. Now he doesn’t have to cope with that, and he will also have Andy Lee in his corner. That is massive. He may have to weather some storms, but I think he can do that and then get the win on points.

“As for Stevenson, he just knows how to win doesn't he? He gets some stick because he can be defensive and not take risks, but some fighters are like that.

“With Zepeda, he will chase the fight all night and if he’s on the front foot and missing as well as being countered, I think Stevenson could stop him late or win wide on the cards. Stevenson is just too good.”
