Canelo is one of boxing's best fighters.

Edgar Berlanga impressed when stopping Padraig McCrory last weekend and the immediate focus switched to a battle with Canelo Alvarez.

Berlanga is one of a number of fighters eager to test themselves against the Mexican icon and he improved his chances with a dominant display.

With Canelo consistently linked to numerous high profile fights due to his incredible popularity, Berlanga must wait and see what direction the 168lbs world champion chooses.

Marc Ferrait, the trainer of Berlanga, admits his man needs more experience and time to prepare for Canelo, but he’s ready to make a fight of it if he gets the opportunity.

“I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t think anyone’s ready for Canelo,” said Ferrait when speaking to ProBox TV.

“Let’s just call a spade a spade. We heard a lot from [Jermell] Charlo, right? ‘I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do that.’ He got in the ring; it all became real. There was nothing done. I tell you right now, you’re going to get a better fight with Edgar.”
