The Matchroom promoter made the prediction on the DAZN Boxing Show.

Eddie Hearn believes that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will one day put their rivalry to bed in the ring.

Fury and Joshua had been expected to fight in Saudi Arabia at the end of last summer but the WBC champion was ultimately ordered to complete his trilogy rematch with Deontay Wilder, which he won in October.

Joshua instead fought Oleksandr Usyk as his WBO mandatory opponent but lost decisively, though he has activated a rematch clause with April or May now expected to be the date for their second fight.

However, Matchroom promoter Hearn believes that Fury and Joshua will still fight, and thinks that it could come as soon as the end of 2022 or early next year.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, he said: “I think the AJ Fury fight is still the fight. That’s the fight that people still want to see and will always be there. The bigger the better.

“That fight, I promise you, will happen, whether that’s late this year or early next year, Fury vs. AJ is a dead cert to happen because it’s too big a fight not to.”
