'Start banging out!' - Ruiz Jr. moots Fury-Joshua tactics for super-bout

Anthony Joshua needs to "start banging out" against Tyson Fury if he is to win, believes the star's former rival Andy Ruiz Jr..

'AJ' and 'The Gypsy King' are due to contest a generational heavyweight bout in late 2026 after years of back-and-forth jabs.

Both fellow fighters and fans are split on how a clash between the two British titans will go down however when they do meet.

For Ruiz, who handed Joshua his first professional loss back in 2019, the star must come out of the traps fast if he is to win.

"It's going to be a good fight,” he addressed talkSPORT on the fight.. “That's going to be an exciting fight. I'm going to tell you the truth

"If Tyson Fury gets in Joshua's head, he boxes around, moves around, throws his combinations, maybe it could affect Joshua.

"But if Joshua goes in there and starts banging out with Fury, he could probably win. It only takes one punch to change the whole fight."

Ruiz himself is gearing up for a return against Damian Knyba in September, after penning comeback terms with Matchroom Boxing.
