Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - Anthony Joshua trainer has his say

Fury and Usyk will collide later this year.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are less than three months from finally settling their heavyweight grudge with the pair due to meet on May 18.

Ben Davison, the trainer who helped return Fury to the top of the division, is intrigued to see how the undisputed encounter plays out.

Now training Anthony Joshua, Davison will have a keen eye on how Fury vs. Usyk plays out with Joshua a possible contender for the victor.

The bout was originally set to take place in February, but an injury suffered by Fury forced the contest to be postponed.

Davison could play a crucial role in the heavyweight scene moving forward and he’s provided his verdict on the blockbuster clash.

“Yeah, it’s massive, an unbelievable fight. In terms of their character, it’s so mad as they’re so opposite yet so similar,” said Davison when speaking on Bet 365’s Full Circle

“I’m intrigued, even when it comes to fight week regarding what both fighters have to say and whether that’ll show us anything about how each fighter might approach the fight.

“A lot of people say Tyson’s size, but it’s all about whether Tyson is able to impose his size. If he goes about the fight the wrong way it could be difficult for him to capitalise on his size.

“I think the misconception with Usyk is that he’s some back foot fighter who runs around the ring, when he’s actually very aggressive.”
