Adidas reveal matchball for the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals

The FIFA Club World Cup is down to the final four, with the two huge semi-finals taking place this week in New York.  

On Tuesday, Chelsea will meet the last non-European side standing as they battle Fluminense, before two of Europe's heavyweights meet on Wednesday when Real Madrid take on reigning European champions PSG. 



With it being the semi-final stage, the teams will have a brand-new football to kick around, too, after adidas dropped the new matchball for the final stages of the tournament. 

The design is a colour upgrade to the group stage ball and pays homage to the host nation, applying bold graphics and emblems that celebrate and connect to the USA’s heritage. 

Against a pearlescent background, the ball features striking jagged-edged block patterns and deconstructed stars and stripes in blue, white and gold, alongside the official ‘FIFA Club World Cup’ logo sign-off in white and gold.



Like the original tournament ball, it is engineered by the accuracy of PRECISIONSHELL – a 20-piece panel shape with strategically placed debossed grooves on the ball’s outer shell.

The shape was meticulously studied and tested in the lab and on pitch to assess the airflow over the ball, for maximum precision.
