Arsenal can reclaim the top spot in the Premier League with a win or draw against visiting Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Gunners saw their lead in the title race nullified by Manchester City earlier this week, with the Sky Blues climbing level on points with the North London side but boasting a better goals total. Arsenal had held onto first place since early October, and now they must play every match for the remainder of the season like it's a final if they want to take it back permanently, especially with Man City holding a game in hand after this weekend.
As for Newcastle, simply picking up a point would be an improvement over their recent outings, as the Magpies have lost three in a row and have dropped to 14th place.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal

"We know the difficulty of the league. Very clear, the ability and the quality of Newcastle, what Eddie’s done with that team and continues to do, we know how tough the opponent is going to be tomorrow. We have to be at our best. If we do that, we're going to have a big chance to win."
Eddie Howe, Newcastle
(via Newcastle)
"We're all feeling that pain at the moment. It's been a difficult period for us. We're very determined to try and put that right and determined to try and win as many games as we can.
"We've prided ourselves historically on if we lose a game, fighting to the end and giving everything to try and get a result. I feel the players are currently at the moment maybe lacking in a little bit of confidence - we've lost a bit of our normal regular flow and rhythm that we've had.
"There's only one way to re-find that though and that's through, in my opinion, hard work, a really good period of training, players staying very stable mentally and seeing it for what it is, and just trying to rediscover and enjoy their football and find their best form again."
A renewed Arsenal fell just short last weekend against Manchester City, but they played better in that match than they had in weeks.
With so much on the line, a repeat of that performance against a staggering Newcastle side should see the Gunners back to the top spot — at least temporarily.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Newcastle
