Arsenal could see one of their biggest stars back on the field imminently, according to Mikel Arteta.
Bukayo Saka has not played in Arsenal's last three matches as he deals wth a hip injury, but the Gunners were able to win all three games in his absence.
However, as good as the Premier League leaders have been without Saka patrolling the right side of the pitch, Arteta would prefer to have the England international at his disposal.
To that end, Saka should be back in short order, the manager said.
"His hip is getting much better, so yes, hopefully very soon he will be with us," Arteta said in a press conference on Friday. "Very soon, very soon."
The Gunners host Sunderland on Saturday, and they'd love nothing more than to have Saka involved. Another key player, captain Martin Odegaard, was also absent for Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the second leg of the Caracbao Cup semi-final on Tuesday and Arteta said the midfielder is progressing well.
Additionally, Jurrien Timber, who dealt with a knock recently but still played 90 minutes in each of Arsenal's two most recent matches, should be good to go against Sunderland.
"Martin again is getting better, it will be a matter of days we believe," Arteta said, "and Jurrien’s fine."
