It’s Matchday Two of the 2025-26 Champions League season, and once again, there are some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to across Europe.

Here, DAZN News looks five things to watch out for from Tuesday’s fixtures as European heavyweights Real Madrid and Bayern Munich bid to avoid upsets away from home and Liverpool look to flex their muscles once again.

History beckons in Kazakhstan

Champions League first-timers and rank outsiders for the league phase, Kairat, host Real Madrid in their first-ever home game in the competition.

Fifteen-time European champions Madrid, boasting the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, will make the arduous trip to Kazakhstan fresh off a 2-1 opening-round win over Marseille.

The hosts made their Champions League bow in Lisbon, losing 4-1 to Sporting on Matchday One, but now get set for the biggest game in the club's history.

It promises to be some occasion.

Tottenham eyeing up another victory

Thomas Frank enjoyed the perfect start to life as a Champions League manager after orchestrating a 1-0 home win over Villarreal.

Having also made an encouraging opening to their Premier League campaign, Spurs will fancy their chances of another European win on Tuesday night.

They travel to Norway to face a Bodo/Glimt outfit who they beat in last season’s Europa League semi-final en-route to lifting their first trophy in 17 years.

Tottenham, then under Ange Postecoglou, dispatched the Norwegians 3-1 at home before winning 2-0 away to wrap up a 5-1 aggregate success.

Now they head back to the Aspmyra Stadion fully expecting to register another win – only this time in the Champions League.

Few would bet against them achieving it.

The return of the Special One

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have lifted two trophies in the past few months, first winning the Conference League and then being crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions in the summer.

But Bayern Munich, six-time European champions, brought them down a peg or two in their Champions League opener.

Harry Kane, former favourite of Chelsea’s bitter rivals Tottenham, scored twice for Bayern and the onus is on Maresca’s side to fashion a response on home soil.

Benfica, managed by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho, suffered the indignity of losing 3-2 at home to Qarabag on Matchday One, so Chelsea will be confident of seeing off the Portuguese giants at Stamford Bridge.

Slot machine faces testing trip to Turkey

Liverpool already look a decent bet to retain the Premier League title they won last season in Arne Slot’s first season at Anfield.

But the Reds also have a long-standing love affair with the Champions League as they go in search of a seventh European title this season.

Beating Atletico Madrid 3-2 at home in a stormy encounter showed they will take some beating this season.

A trip to Turkey is not without its challenges, but Slot’s side will be confident of dispatching a Galatasaray side stuffed 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt in Matchday One.

For travelling Liverpool fans, going to Istanbul will evoke memories of the club’s epic Champions League final win over AC Milan at Ataturk Stadium in 2005.

Bayern set to wreck Pafos party

There is intrigue in Cyprus, where Champions League first-timers and rank outsiders for the league phase, Pafos, host Bayern Munich in their first-ever home game in the competition.

Six-time European champions Bayern, boasting the likes of Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, will make the trip to Cyprus having beaten Chelsea 3-1 at home in their Champions League opener.

Pafos made their Champions League bow in Greece, earning a spirited goalless draw at Olympiakos on Matchday One, but now get set for the biggest game in the club's history.
