Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou believes England being able to sustain attacks could be the key to success at the World Cup.
After successfully navigating the group stage, England will face DR Congo this evening in the last 32.
England are undefeated, but besides the thrilling 4-2 win over Croatia in Dallas, their performances have felt underwhelming.
This could be down to the matches against Ghana and Panama being ones where the Three Lions have had to try and unlock a low block.
Today's match against DR Congo could see England face a similar problem, meaning the attacking players need to be creative when in possession.
Quite often, England have found themselves struggling to make sustained pressure count, and according to Postecoglou, the Three Lions need to remain relentless in attack and, if they do so, will be rewarded.
"Sometimes when you play against low block teams, you have to invite the opposition out to create some spaces and that invariably leads to some chances," Postecoglou told ITV Sport.
"I still think the key is sustaining the attacks, sometimes you score from your second or your third cross, or your third or fourth attempt on goal, I think that’s where the key lies for England.
"When England maintain pressure on the opposition, they have the quality to score goals, and when you score goals, that’s what changes games."
