Team news

Chelsea FC sit second in Group D after losing 3-1 to CR Flamengo, but they are ahead of third-placed Espérance on goal difference. The Tunisian side also have three points after winning 1-0 against Los Angeles Football Club.

Chelsea can go through to the knockout round if they avoid defeat at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. A victory against the Blues would send Espérance to the last 16.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said he will rotate his line-up for the group finale. The English Premier League side will be without striker Nicolas Jackson, who is serving a one-match ban for his red card against Flamengo.

Who can qualify for the knockout phase?

What they said...

“I think we didn’t take our chances in the second half [against LAFC]. We started a bit slow. We could have started better and taken our chances – we have nothing to fear [against Chelsea]."
Elias Mokwana, Espérance winger

"We will do some rotation because the ones who played two games are quite tired to play again. So we will make rotation, and we will see if there is a chance for those who haven’t played as much."
Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach

It is perhaps fitting that the first ticketed event at Lincoln Financial Field was the eye-catching friendly between Barcelona and Manchester United in August 2003, with Patrick Kluivert having the honour of scoring the venue’s first goal. Now home to NFL side Philadelphia Eagles, the impressive arena has also been selected to host five group-stage matches and a Round-of-16 tie during the eagerly-anticipated, 48-team FIFA World Cup 26™.
