World Cup 2026 draw: England grouped with Croatia, Ghana and Panama
England now know their Group L opponents in the 2026 World Cup after the draw was held in Washington, D.C. on Friday.
Thomas Tuchel's side will meet Croatia, Ghana and Panama, having been drawn against each other in Group L.
Croatia are the highest-ranked team (10) in Group L and have previous against the Three Lions in the World Cup, having knocked them out in the 2018 semi-finals.
Panama are another opponent England have faced in the competition, with the Three Lions thrashing them 6-1 in the group stage. England will also face Ghana, whom they have only faced once in their history, having drawn 1-1 with them at Wembley Stadium in 2011.
The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup sees history made, with a record 48 nations competing across three host nations in the USA, Canada and Mexico, at 60 venues.

England World Cup 26 fixtures: Dates, kick-off times, venue
England's full FIFA World Cup 26 fixtures will be confirmed during a special FIFA programme on Saturday, December 7, 2025. Then we will know exact dates, venues, and kick-off times for every match.
The FIFA show will be broadcast live from Washington DC, U.S., at 12pm ET and 9am PT in the U.S and Canada, which is 5pm GMT in the UK & Ireland, 6pm in central Europe.
