Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina preview: Team news, date, and how to watch World Cup match

The second of the World Cup co-hosts are in action today as Canada welcomes Bosnia and Herzegovina to Toronto Stadium for the opening clash in Group B.

It will be the first men's World Cup match on Canadian soil after the country hosted the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2015, as well as various age-group World Cups over the years, and Jesse Marsch's side will hope that the home-field advantage will help them overcome any nerves they'll have.

Ranked 30th in the world, Les Rouges have enjoyed a lengthy spell of good results recently, only losing once in the last 17 matches. However, three of their last four matches ended in a draw, as goal scoring has become an increasingly rare commodity for the team.

Meanwhile, the Bosnians are preparing for their first World Cup since 2014, when they exited at the group stage after winning once and losing twice. The 65th-ranked side has had a thrilling 2026 so far, eliminating both Wales and Italy in the World Cup qualification play-offs to get to this stage.

Similar to their hosts, Bosnia and Herzegovina have experienced a lot of draws in recent matches, with their two pre-World Cup tune-ups ending in 0-0 and 1-1 stalemates against North Macedonia and Panama, respectively.
