Bayern Munich rode a trademark performance from Harry Kane to defeat Flamengo 4-2 in the Round of 16 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.
Kane scored twice in the match, including an early goal that put Bayern up by two inside the opening 10 minutes as the German side looked to establish dominance from the outset against the Group D winners.
Flamengo did not go down without a fight however, and they pulled to within a goal on either side of half-time, but a savvy Bayern side did enough to hold off the Brazilian side and move on to the quarter-finals.
Here are the key talking points from Bayern's comfortable victory over Flamengo, as seen by DAZN News.

Vincent Kompany mentioned prior to kick-off that he wanted his side to establish themselves early, and they did just that with a pair of goals by the nine-minute mark.
It was a frantic start from the German giants, who looked to catch Flamengo when they were still figuring out the tempo of the match. A forced own-goal and a Harry Kane strike both came before the clock struck 10:00, and the Brazilian side appeared shell-shocked at the sudden two-goal deficit.
To their credit, Flamengo battled back and found their own flow, but Bayern did not appear overly threatened for the remainder of the match even when their opponents got to within a goal on two occasions.
The quick start gave Bayern the cushion they needed to dictate the match on their own terms, which they did for large stretches en route to victory.

Both teams were opportunistic in Sunday's match, leading to some fabulous goals as the entertainment value was high.
In a hard-fought affair such as this, the team that capitalises best is often the one that wins. Such was the case for Bayern, who scored four goals after putting four shots on target — although the early own goal didn't register as a Bayern shot, of course.
Flamengo were efficient as well, scoring twice from three shots on target. The conversion rate from both sides is a testament to the quality on display at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Speaking of the Hard Rock Stadium, it's the home of the NFL Miami Dolphins and the Miami Hurricanes of NCAA football fame.
On Sunday there was a different HurriKane gracing the grass at the famed venue, as the England international had himself a day with two fabulous strikes to pace his side to victory.
As the tournament wears on and the matches become bigger and more instense, it's the stars that will make the biggest impact for their sides as they pursue the highest honour in the club game.
That's what Kane did on Sunday for Bayern, as he led the way with two impactful goals at crucial times and made his presence felt throughout the contest.
