Tottenham may have had a season to forget in the Premier League, but could still salvage something from their European adventure.

They travel to Germany on Thursday, looking to progress to the semi-finals of the Europa League as they take on Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Pedro Porro's goal helped Spurs secure a 1-1 draw against the Germans in the first leg, but now face a tricky task in finishing the job to reach the final four.

Speaking exclusively to DAZN News, thanks to Golden Panda, former Tottenham star Gus Poyet has faith in his old team to go all the way in the competition, because it's their only focus for the remainder of the season.

He said, "Yes, I think they can, because when they are all on the pitch, the main players, they are a very good team, and they can perform.

"Also, how many times do we hear clubs - and not just Tottenham - that have to concentrate on the league or concentrate on the cup, this cup gives them a focus.

"Because you are in a situation in the league that, I mean, you are not going to go down because the teams at the bottom, they are really far. You cannot get to the top four.

"So that European competition is your last option. So, probably until they play the second leg, everything is going to be put in there.

"Now, if they get out of the European competition, then it's a really bad season."

A win in Germany would be a huge boost for Ange Postecoglou, who's faced a difficult second season in charge of the North Londoners. Tottenham languish in 15th place in the Premier League, leading to concerns over the Australian's future at the club.

However, Poyet believes it's not just the manager at fault but the whole club has to take the blame for their diapointing campaign.

Adding, "In terms of results for a team like Tottenham, and the aim in the beginning of the season.  It's bad, the position on the table, the quantity of games lost. So it's a difficult situation for the manager.

"He also said that in his second season, he always wins something, so I think everything is put into the European competition now.

"As a coach, I feel for him. Somehow, something is happening, it's a little mistake, it's a rebound, it's a non-goal. So when you are in that role, in that kind of situation, it becomes very frustrating for the manager, because it doesn't matter how many times a day you train, it doesn't matter how many tactics, how many systems, how many videos, how many runs, because at the end always something happens.

"So I think when you are in the situation that it's in now, the easiest part is to blame the coach. But I think people in football know that the responsibility is the whole club, the club, the staff and also the players.

"So at the end the ones that pay is the fans, that they feel that stadium week in, week out and  they're having another season depending on the European competition."
