Team news

Manchester City were near flawless in the opening round of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, topping Group G with three wins from three while netting a tournament-high 13 goals. Al Hilal, meanwhile, finished runners-up to Real Madrid C. F. in Group H following an unbeaten three-game run, securing their last-16 berth with a 2-0 win over CF Pachuca on Matchday 3.

Pep Guardiola has used the group stage to flex his squad depth muscles, naming different starting XI's for the opening two matches before fielding a hybrid of the two teams last time out against Juventus FC. Despite that, though, one would imagine the Spaniard will choose his strongest possible XI to battle the Blue Wave. Al Hilal boss Simone Inzaghi will surely do the same, with a number of former Premier League stars such as Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo and Kalidou Koulibaly set to start. However the Italian will be without captain Salem Al-Dawsari, who has suffered an injury that will sideline him for several weeks. Al-Dawsari had taken part in the match against Pachuca despite dealing with some pain, and managed to score a crucial goal that secured his team’s qualification.

The winners of this clash will move on to a quarter-final showdown against either FC Internazionale Milano or Fluminense FC in Orlando on Friday, 4 July.

Possible starting XIs

What they said

"It’s a fantastic tournament. We’re happy to be here. We’ve made the knockout stage and we’re focused on what’s next. We can’t take any team lightly. Every team is quality at this level and they all deserve our respect."
Jeremy Doku, Manchester City player

“I was very confident but I didn't think there would be such an immediate impact on the team. I complimented the boys and told them that now we are facing one of the best clubs in the world. These are the games that must make us grow. Our goal was to be among the top 16 teams in the world but now we will try to give everything to continue moving forward. Every manager who starts out as a coach takes Guardiola as an example. There was a before and after him”
Simone Inzaghi, Al Hilal head coach

"Congrats to the players and to the fans who supported us all the way. We hope we can keep making them happy in this tournament. We’ve reached the Round of 16, and we want more."
Moteb Al-Harbi, Al Hilal player

Originally opened almost 90 years ago, Camping World Stadium has undergone multiple expansions and refits in the intervening years, culminating in the 2014 redevelopment which saw the creation of a 90 percent all-new stadium following an investment of over $200 million. A host of sporting, entertainment, and musical events have taken place at the Orlando venue, with The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, and Elton John all taking to the stage, while WrestleMania XXIV wowed a venue-record crowd of 74,635 in 2008.
