Both sides have won twice and drawn once in the competition thus far, putting them each on seven points. However, Dortmund sit sixth while Man City are seventh due to the German side's superior goal output, as the club have scored four goals in each of their three league phase matches.
Dortmund are, once again, embroiled in a battle for second place in the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich already pulling away from the rest of the field in the title race.
As for Man City, they are also part of a chasing pack in their domestic league, with Arsenal setting the pace in the Premier League. The Sky Blues have not been nearly as prolific in the Champions League as they have shown to be in England, but given the make-up of the squad that can change at any time.
